Kira Schlieman, MPH '27
Biography
Kira is an MPH student at Brown concentrating in Maternal & Child Health. She holds a BS in Public Health and Minor in Child Development from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo. During her undergraduate studies, Kira assisted with research in Cal Poly’s Department of Public Health on tobacco and nicotine use prevention, health education, and effective public health messaging strategies. She also worked with PULSE, Cal Poly’s student-led peer health education program, where she designed and implemented initiatives to address the mental and physical well-being of Cal Poly’s campus community. Kira is passionate about applying evidence-based public health practice to her interests in women’s health, mental health, and food policy. In her time outside of school and work, Kira enjoys running, baking, and exploring New England!
