Health promotion is a public health strategy that seeks to empower and guide choices that improve health and wellbeing rather than focusing solely on prescribing changes to an individual's behavior (like telling someone to eat better). Instead, it recognizes that a person's health is influenced by a complex network of factors—a system—at many different levels.
BWell Health Promotion at Brown aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and tools to support their own wellbeing and the wellbeing of their communities so they can thrive in all facets of life. To address these diverse facets, we employ a variety of interventions simultaneously. A few examples include:

Our focus areas include fulfilling relationships, consent, supporting survivors of interpersonal harm, stress management, sleep, substance use, sexual health, and more.
